This Will Be Funny Someday - Katie Henry ★★★★★

This Will Be Funny Someday is a YA contemporary novel that follows the life of Isabel/Izzy, a quiet sixteen year old who in high school who accidently stumbles into a comedy bar, and so begins her journey in stand-up comedy with her new friends.

This novel has to be one of my favourite reads. There are many funny scenes that I enjoyed, especially Izzy V (her on-stage name) and her jokes, and telling the story in a light-hearted way. I'd like to say is that Henry handles heavy topics really well, such as toxic relationships and feminism. Izzy is a strong character with massive character developments, who ultimately learns self acceptance. The progression of the story moved well with her comedy routines weaved into the scene.

The side characters, Izzy friends, Mo, Will and Jonah, are also likeable. I would've liked the book to have shown their comedy routines though as I think it would make an interesting addition.

Altogether, a brilliant read!
