Wink - Rob Harrell ★★★★★

This book follows Ross, a young boy, who is suddenly disguised with eye cancer. It is told from first point of view, describing his thoughts, feelings and how people react to him.

I think this book is great for giving a humorous tone to such a serious topic. It also is realistic - the author writes about his first hand experiences with medical procedures through the main character.

The way Ross struggles to deal with himself and how to cope is truly inspiring. I like the small illustrations and comic strips in the book - it adds to the narrative very well and adds a touch of fun. Ross is a funny character along with his friends. They are relatable as teens and adds to the feel of the book.

Overall, it is a good read for all ages. It is quite a light-hearted but still shows the importance of these topics.
